Two days ago, I bought a lot of bananas, not really expensive that's why I bought a "ton"of bananas.  Anyway, now I have to find a new recipe to eat these bananas.

After couple searches, I found this new recipe on a french culinary blog Les délices d'Hélène, this recipe is extracted from a french cooking book "Les cakes de Sophie" by Sophie Dedumaine. I changed just the proportions of butter and sugar.

When I took the cake out of the oven, it smelled so good, it smelled like caramelized bananas. I had to wait to eat a piece of cake before it was to cold. This cake looks perfect and the chocolate melts in the mouth :) It's an amazing cake!

Banana Chocolate Cake

Ingredients :

  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup + 2 Tbs sugar
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1  1/2 tsb baking soda
  • 10 Tbs butter
  • 2 bananas
  • 4 oz baking chocolate bar's small pieces (semi-sweet)

Preheat oven to 350 degre F.

Cut the bananas in slices. Put the banana slices in a large non stick frying pan, with 1 Tbs of butter and 1 Tps of sugar and cook over a medium heat for 5-6 minutes until the bananas are caramelised. Leave to cool.

In a large bowl whisk together the eggs and the sugar until the mixture is pale. Add flour and baking soda.

Then melt the butter in microwave.  Mix the butter to the mixture. Add the bananas and the small pieces of chocolate.  Spoon the batter into prepared pan (I used Loaf Pan 8 in.x 37/8 in. x 215/32 in.). Bake for 45 minutes.
