This morning, it smells so good in my kitchen! It smells ginger and honey, wow! Thanks to Andrea from 4Pure for challenging us to make a Ductch Sweet Bread, called ontbijtkoek (literally translated breakfast cake) . We had a choice between Peperkoek Cake -(pepper cake) this spiced cake is an integral part of the breakfast table in Holland-,  Kruidkoek or Sugarfree Peperkoek. I chose the first one. It is often spiced with cloves, cinnamon, ginger, succade (candied citrus peel) and nutmeg. I just used ginger... [Lire la suite]

A quick and easy bread loaf! It's a perfect loaf for a perfect meal - The Breakfast. :)  Toasted, it's so delicious!!! J'adore mon petit dejeuner! My breakfast is so precious, it's my favorite meal of the day. When I wake up, it's a real pleasure to take a cup of coffee. Take coffee or tea with 3 or 5 muffin bread toasted with apricot jam to a great start! You can spread jam or butter, whatever you want. I prefer particularly jam.    Recipe adapted from Cook'sCountry Best recipes Dec.2013 Make... [Lire la suite]

Daring Bakers' February 2013 Challenge - Crispy Flatbread -

Our February Daring Baker's host was Sarah from All Our Fingers in the Pie. She challenged us to make crisp crackers and flatbreads. I chose to make flatbreads. I had never made any Flatbread before this challenge! I was so surprised how  easy to prepare it was. I flavored them with italian herbs and sea salt. It's really crispy and so good. When I served my flatbread for the diner, my son had a good idea : "we can serve them with a bowl of olive oil and italian herbs". So we soaked the flatbread in olive oil. Wouah, it was... [Lire la suite]

Daring Bakers' February 2012 Challenge - Quick Bread

The February 2012 Daring Bakers Challenge was choosen and hosted by Lis, Daring Kitchen Co-Founder. She chose Quick Bread using baking soda, or baking powder, but no yeast. It's really quick to make "because it doesn't require kneading or rising time." It's really a great choice :) It's a lovely challenge for me, because I had a lof of adventures in my kitchen a few weeks ago making a cornbread. My friend Florence gave me the recipe and a beautiful skillet, she said " it's so easy to make" . But I put baking soda instead baking... [Lire la suite]

Wow It's so good! The cheese is so meelty and the Jalapeno Pepper Cheese so spicy. You find the French Cake serving up at "l'heure de l'apéritif" (cocktail hour) in French families. I'm sure you can think up your own wonderful taste combination.   Prep Time : 25 minutes    Cook time : 55 minutes (375 degré F.) ou 50 minutes (180 degré C.) Ingredients : 1 1/3 cup... White Bread

Snow storm in East Coast ! It's time to make a bread ! Simply a great tasting and easy to make a white bread. Here's is your chance to make a bread like a master, with no robot.
