Lemony Layered Cheesecake

Fast and easy cheesecake! If you like lemon and mascarpone, it's a great dessert for you. You don't have to cook the dessert, just put it in the fridge to firm up. Thanks to FERRAN ADRIA, a great Spanish Chef, for this lovely recipe. EL Bulli, located in the small town of Roses on the coast of Catalonia, about two hours north of Barcelona, was among the best retaurants in the world before he closed in 2012. Adria's creations are designed to surprise and enchant. He was referred as "the Salvador Dali of the... Daring Bakers' July 2014 Challenge : Surprise Cake!

I just came back from South Carolina where I spent a few days. It was a pleasure to eat in the restaurants with an oceanfront dining. I have a good address in Garden City : Conch Cafe... Enjoy just an appetizer or a seafood entree and the view of the Atlantic Ocean. Maybe you will have the chance to see fireworks when dining. I am so glad to come back at home and present you the Daring Bakers' new challenge. This month, Ruth from The Crafts of Mommyhood challenged us to make an exciting challenge. She... [Lire la suite]

Daring Bakers June, 2014 challenge - Sugar Buns -

This month Shelley from C Mom Cook challenged us to make Cinnamon Rolls, a North American treat.  I am not a fan of Cinnamon. So I decided to make Sugar Buns -Martha Stewart's recipe with no cinnamon-. These Sugar Buns are delicious, when they are warm. The Yeast Dough is easy to prepare. It's the perfect dough to make Sugar Buns, Sticky Buns, and Monkey Bread.  I filled the dough with white and brown sugar. You can refrigerate the dough overnight and make your Sugar Buns for Breakfast. Wow! Imagine how it smells... [Lire la suite]

Quatre-Quarts / French Pound Cake

Quatre-Quarts is a French cake that I love so much. Quatre-quarts means four quaters, because you need four ingredients for the dough and these 4 ingredients - eggs, flour, sugar and butter - are supposed to have the same weight. The French Pound cake is so easy to prepare. You can add dried fruits (raisins, cranberries...), orange zest or rum which changes the flavor of the cake. This buttery French Pound Cake is so good with a glass of milk or a cup of tea. It's a great idea to make for a tea party... [Lire la suite]

Banana-Chocolate Cake

Two days ago, I bought a lot of bananas, not really expensive that's why I bought a "ton"of bananas.  Anyway, now I have to find a new recipe to eat these bananas.  After couple searches, I found this new recipe on a french culinary blog Les délices d'Hélène, this recipe is extracted from a french cooking book "Les cakes de Sophie" by Sophie Dedumaine. I changed just the proportions of butter and sugar. When I took the cake out of the oven, it smelled so good, it smelled like caramelized bananas. I had to wait to eat a... [Lire la suite]
